Didjeriblue, Vol. 1
Release date: 2003
Deep bass grooves, bluesy guitars and the primal growl of didgeridoos converge... where the Outback meets the Delta.
Street musicians in Sydney, Australia, introduced Mike Starling to the earthy tones of the didgeridoo, and he knew immediately that he had to find a way to incorporate this ancient Aboriginal wind instrument into his music.
Spurred on by A&R folks at Pump Audio, who heard some of his initial experiments, he completed the seven instrumental compositions that became Didjeriblue Vol. 1. Tracks from this album have since been heard on numerous soundtracks on the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Biography, the Travel Channel (including Anthony Bourdain No Reservations), A&E, MTV, VH1 and many more. The album was released in 2003 in a (now sold out) limited edition CD run.
